Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Privacy Policy”) provides information on how UAB “Rietavo veterinarinė sanitarija”, legal entity code 169704164, registered office at Žadvainių g. 25, Kalakutiškės village, LT-90304, Rietavas Municipality (hereinafter the “Company” or “we”), processes the personal data of data subjects (hereinafter “you”) in accordance with the highest data protection standards.

When processing personal data, we responsibly comply with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter the “General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”), the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Electronic Communications, the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Protection of Personal Data, other directly applicable legislation governing personal data protection, and the instructions and recommendations of competent supervisory authorities. Our activities are also governed by Commission Regulation (EU) No 142/2011 of 25 February 2011 implementing Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down health rules concerning animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and implementing Council Directive 97/78/EC as regards certain samples and items exempt from veterinary checks at the border under that Directive, as well as Order No 3D-162 of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania of 13 April 2007 “On the Approval of the Rules for Granting State Aid for the Disposal and Destruction of Animal By-products Not Intended for Human Consumption”.

1. To whom does this Privacy Policy apply?

This Privacy Policy applies to the processing of personal data by the Company in connection with the collection and processing of animal by-products in Lithuania.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to links to third-party websites provided on the Company’s website. We therefore recommend that you separately review the personal data processing rules applicable on those websites.

2. What is personal data and how do we process it?

Personal data means any information collected by the Company about a data subject that can be used to identify that data subject and that is stored electronically or by other means.

Personal data includes any information, including a data subject’s first name, surname and address, that the Company collects about data subjects for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy.

When processing personal data, we responsibly implement organisational and technical measures designed to ensure data security and to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration or disclosure, as well as against any other unlawful processing.

3. When do we process your personal data?

We collect and process your personal data only where this is necessary to achieve our legitimate purposes and where we have a legal basis to do so. The Company processes personal data:

  • where you have given your consent to the processing of personal data for one or more specified purposes;
  • where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or transaction concluded with you, or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract or transaction;
  • where we are required to do so by law;
  • where processing is necessary for the purposes of the Company’s legitimate interests.

4. What personal data do we process?

When you enter into an agreement with us for the collection and processing of animal by-products, or order these services by completing an online order form, we process the following personal data:

  • the animal owner’s first name and surname, or the name of the legal entity and the representative’s first name, surname and position;
  • personal identification number or legal entity code;
  • address at which the economic activity is carried out;
  • telephone number;
  • email address;
  • ear-tag number of the deceased animal.

Purpose of processing – conclusion and performance of the service agreement (order).

Legal basis for processing – conclusion and performance of a contract/transaction between you and the Company (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Retention period – 10 years.

Data transfer – pursuant to Order No 3D-162 of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, the data is transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.

When you enter into an agreement with us to purchase our goods, we process the following data:

  • first name and surname, or the name of the legal entity and the representative’s first name, surname and position;
  • personal identification number or legal entity code;
  • address at which the economic activity is carried out;
  • telephone number;
  • email address;
  • payment details (bank name and bank account number).

Purpose of processing – conclusion and performance of a purchase and sale agreement.

Legal basis for processing – conclusion and performance of a contract/transaction between you and the Company (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Retention period – 10 years.

When you contact us to order services by telephone at +370 656 23139, we record the telephone call and process all data necessary for the service order, as well as your voice recording (voice tone, pronunciation, manner of speaking and other voice characteristics specific to you).

Purpose of processing – conclusion and performance of the service agreement (order).

Legal basis for processing – conclusion and performance of a contract/transaction between you and the Company (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in retaining the details and evidence of an order placed by telephone (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention period – 3 months.

Processor – UAB “Tele2”.

When you apply for a position with the Company, we process:

  • your first name and surname;
  • your email address and other contact details provided by you;
  • data evidencing your education and work experience, and any other data and information included in your curriculum vitae (CV), which you send to the email address indicated in the Careers section of our website or submit through the form provided there.

Purpose of processing – recruitment for vacant positions (assessment of candidates’ suitability for specific positions).

Legal basis for processing – your consent, expressed by completing the form on our website or by sending us your curriculum vitae (CV).

Retention period – no longer than 12 months.

5. Direct marketing

Your personal data may be processed for direct marketing purposes where you have consented to such processing. For direct marketing purposes, we will process the personal data received from you (first name, surname, email address and telephone number).

We publish marketing communications concerning our services and terms of cooperation on our website or on our social media accounts, and we do not send general communications (for example, newsletters or invitations to participate in opinion surveys) to our customers by email.

6. To whom may we disclose your data?

Your personal data and information about you may be accessible only to a limited number of our employees and providers of IT, audit and legal services to the Company, and only to the extent necessary for them to fulfil their contractual obligations. All such persons are subject to strict requirements concerning the protection of confidential information. Your data may also be disclosed to other group companies and to our shareholders.

Your personal data may also be disclosed:

  • where we are required to do so by law or in order to comply with requests from law-enforcement and supervisory authorities;
  • in order to defend our rights or interests, including disclosure of your data to third parties for the recovery of amounts owed by you to us;
  • where the Company or part of its assets is intended to be sold, by disclosing your personal data to a prospective purchaser of the Company or the relevant part thereof;
  • where the Company or a substantial part of its assets is sold to third parties.

Your personal data will not be transferred to a third country and/or an international organisation.

7. Where do we process your data?

We process your personal data only within the European Union / European Economic Area (EU/EEA). At present, we do not transfer your personal data to third countries. Should it become necessary to transfer your personal data to third countries, we will inform you before the transfer and will ensure that the transfer is lawful and secure, including by applying the necessary transfer mechanisms and security measures.

9. What rights do you have?

If you wish to exercise your rights as a data subject under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, or believe that those rights have been or may be infringed, please contact us without delay at the email address specified below in this Privacy Policy. Upon receipt of your written request, we will ensure the exercise of the following data subject rights:

  • the right to know and be informed about the processing of your personal data;
  • the right of access to the personal data we process about you;
  • the right to request correction, completion or clarification of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • the right to request erasure of personal data where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected;
  • the right to request erasure of personal data where it is processed unlawfully, or where you withdraw or do not give consent to processing and such consent is required;
  • the right to object to the processing of personal data or withdraw previously given consent;
  • the right, where technically feasible, to receive personal data collected from you in an easily readable digital format or to request that it be transmitted to another data controller.

Upon receipt of your request, we may ask you to provide identity documents and any additional information relating to the request that we require. We undertake to destroy such documents and information once your identity has been verified.

We will respond to your request no later than one month from the date on which we receive your request and all documents required to provide a response.

If you disagree with our actions or our response to your request, you may lodge a complaint against our actions and decisions with the competent supervisory authority, the State Data Protection Inspectorate (www.vdai.lt).

10. Liability

You are responsible for ensuring that the data you provide to us is accurate, correct and complete. If the data you have provided changes during the performance of a contract or order, you must inform us immediately by email. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any damage suffered by you as a result of providing incorrect or incomplete personal data or failing to notify us of changes to that data.

11. Validity of and amendments to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective from 27 July 2026.

We may update or amend this Privacy Policy at any time. An updated or amended Privacy Policy will take effect upon its publication on this website. You should therefore review this Privacy Policy from time to time to ensure that you are familiar with the version currently in force.
